Wordless Wednesday: Look out Virginia, Crazy Ladies in Route!

It's trip time!

My momma and I leave for beautiful Virginia tomorrow for our annual mom-daughter trip. I'm excited! Ahh, I need to pack! But for now, I blog!

In the past, we've traveled to the lovely Biltmore mansion in Asheville, N.C. and last year Fort Collins, CO for my cousin's high school graduation.

Loved Biltmore!

My cousin's graduation last year in Fort Collins

This year, over the Memorial Day holiday, we will be visiting my bro who is a pilot and big wig in the U.S. Navy stationed in Norfolk, VA. I only get to see my bro once or twice a year and I've only been to visit him in VA once!

He has two sweet little boys with his beautiful wife so I think more than anything else, I'm just excited to get the all cousins together, again. RayRay doesn't have any cousins that live less than 10 hours away, so opportunities to play with cousins are pretty rare and special!

Here are a few photos of our last visit to Norfolk in 2009 Pre-RayRay and my sis-in-law was preggo with her first at the time.

Me and Big D touring a retired battleship

My bro was returning from a 6-month deployment and Big D, my mom and I were part of the "welcome home" committee.

My sis-in-law was about 6 months preggo with their first little man so we got to hang out in the "New Mom" tent .. score!

They are here!

There were some family members aboard including my papa for what is called a Tiger Cruise when they stopped in Jacksonville, FL each officer or crew member was allowed to take aboard one family member. My bro must be special because he took aboard three - my dad, his father-in-law and brother-in-law.

We found him, thank goodness for zoom that ship was GINORMOUS! For that deployment he served as the Assistant Navigator. He is big stuff.

The reunion - so sweet!

The U.S.S. Eisenhower

We had a great time then and I can't wait to spend some quality time with my bro and his family with of course little Miss RayRay in toe. I'm hoping for a tour of the carrier ship he is serving duty on ... the U.S.S. Truman.

Should be a good time.

Should be an adventure as per usual of our mom-daughter trips!

Happy Memorial Day everyone, don't forget to remember our soldiers who serve, sacrificed and some who lost their life fighting for our freedom!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving fresh-cut flowers from the farm. (I'd say my backyard, but it was actually my mother-in-law's backyard). Guess that flower arranging class in college is paying off!

I'm loving that I have an iPhone again. You may remember the terrible tragedy of my stolen iPhone during the SuperBowl, losing a year's worth of photos and videos of Baby RayRay. Yea ... I learned my lesson. Always back-up your data on everything or better yet, download the "Find my iPhone" app!

I'm loving these cute, washable placemats I picked up from Meijer. Why on Earth have I been messing around with washing cloth placemats all the time? Now a damp cloth will do the trick in seconds!

I'm loving my almost, daily Dt. Mt. Dew fountain drink. I might be slightly addicted, but feel as if I'm just making up time from when I was pregnant and couldn't have caffeine.

I'm loving a few of my recent finds at Zulily.com In fact, I just love Zulily in general (and they aren't paying me to say that!) Good grief do they have some steals once and a while or what?! And since I'm a pretty regular online shopper - it's perfect for my crazy, busy lifestyle! And if you do decide to join (it's free), feel absolutely free to mention me since I receive $15 for every friend recommended. I know, I know, but hey it's worth mentioning, in case you're feeling the love!

Zunie and Pinky dress originally $25 - I got it for $11!

Right - Kenneth Cole skinny jeans and polka dot top originally $45, I got it for $12! And  on the left an Allura baby girl bikini originally $17, I got it for $6.

Cute purple sandals originally $12, I got two pairs (the other white) for $6 each.
I'm loving all things baby, especially helping plan a recent baby shower for my good friend Miss Liz at Two Maids a Milking. I can't wait to meet her little munchkin on the way in early August!!

Isn't Liz a beautiful mom-to-be?

Gotta love baby bibs!
BFFs
Miss Leontien made a special trip to Indianapolis for Liz's shower. A few of the Real Farmwives in attendance got a little teary eyed upon her arrival. Miss Leontien is battling her second round of cancer and has not been feeling well after several series of treatments. We've all been praying for Leontien - she is a special lady and I'm so glad she was able to make it down for a fun time at Liz's shower!

On the Pinterest side of life, I'm loving these turquoise eyes. I just happen to have some turquoise eye liner and eye shadow from Mary Kay that I might need to play with a little this summer!

I'm loving trunks for coffee tables. I'm planning a re-style for my living room this summer/fall, so I'm stirring some ideas together. I bought a trunk last fall to use a toy chest for RayRay, but it's got some odor issues (like the smell of death according to Big D), so we're keeping it closed for now!

I'm loving Mad Men. Let me rephrase that, I'm obsessed with Mad Men, especially this season. It's just sooo good, I can't get enough. In fact, every Sunday night at 10 p.m., when the episode begins to wind down close to 11 p.m., I get sad, seriously, I know ... I just don't want it to end, EVER!

That's what I'm loving this week, how about you?

Wordless Wednesday: Going Home

There are so many things I love about going home.

Being back on my family farm that's been in our family since 1847.

Reconnecting with old friends.

Spending time with my folks.

But most of all, I love watching RayRay play on the farm that I grew up on. Great memories all the way around.

Here's a few pics from my visit to Ohio last weekend. It's amazing to me how fearless RayRay is with animals - the cows and horses love her and no doubt she loves them since she generally jumps for joy in their presence. It's beyond cuteness level!

My show girl Sexy Stella. You may remember her from last fall.
Baby butt!

What a pretty guy!

Fun!

Mom's good friend Jess with her new babe Mr. No.

Jules!

Amy!

Best friends forever - literally since elementary. Love my besties! I vote that everyone have friends as wonderful as these ladies! :)
